Now if your a foodie, Lima is an absolute non negotiable trip. The food here is simply mind blowing, so tasty, fresh and innovative. It really shocked me in such a beautiful way. Growing up I had absolutely no idea what Peruvian food involved and I really didn’t know what to expect..
I am so excited to share this guide with you, so you can have the same incredible experience that I had in Lima. So lets go…
Seafood
Being located on the Pacific coast, Lima boasts an unbelievable array of simply mouth watering fish dishes, from the classic Ceviche Alpaltado to Sopa de cangrejo (Crab soup).
El Muelle CevicherÃa
Location: C. Coronel Alfonso Ugarte 206, Lima 15063, Peru
A truly wonderful seafood restaurant located in the heart of Barranco. A lovely neighbourhood known for its romantic & bohemian vibe! This place serves a wide range of crazy good seafood dishes, from crab soup, seafood causa, ceviche, chicharron de pescado & the best arroz de marisco that I have ever tasted.. Now I recommend you order the combo meal as seen in the images above, it comes with everything and is great for sharing!
CevicherÃa Miramar Miraflores
Location: Calle Porta 182, Miraflores 15074, Peru
This was my first experience of Ceviche in Peru and it was one to truly remember and cherish. Unlike eating Ceviche in Europe, they are extremely generous with the portion sizes. I had Ceviche every single day while I was in Lima, enough on its own, its such a remarkable dish.

Seco Norteno - a superb coriander based beef stew! reminds me of the Persian ghormeh sazbi
Pan con chicharon - a delightful sandwich containing the most amazing fried pork, salsa criolla and sweet potato!
Panchita - Miraflores

A sublime diner located in central miraflores, serving absolutely wonderful traditional Peruvian dishes. Anything you order from here will be amazing!
Tacu Tacu with Lomo Saltado - Essentially a Peruvian rice and bean cake served with the mouthwatering Lomo Saltado. By the way, Lomo Saltado is one of my favourite all time dishes.
Aji de gallina - a classic Peruvian chicken stew with the iconic Aji amarillo chile
Sopa criolla - a wonderful tomato & oregano based stew commonly served with a poached egg.
