Food Guide: Porto 🇵🇹
Porto is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and I had the pleasure of spending 3 months there, cooking, walking and most importantly eating... Here is a full food guide for this wonderful city
Porto will always have a special place in my heart. I spent 3 months living there and I can tell you one thing, it was amazing. The food, the people and its charm really hooked me in, making it hard for me to leave.

When it comes to the food, I’ll be honest, I haven’t been everywhere but I had my spots that I would regular go to, because they were consistently good. I can’t remember going to one of my spots and having a bad meal. Here is a collection of my favourites
Pedros Dos Frangos
R. do Bonjardim 223 312, 4000-124 Porto, Portugal

Now the guide could end here as this place is truly goated. Its become one of my favourite restaurants in the whole world. Now I’m saying this from someone who has eaten all over the world and there is something about this place that stands out so much. Its not fancy or posh but its simple, traditional and authentic Portuguese food done so well.
My go to order is the 1/2 frango assado (Rotisserie chicken) with fries. Make sure you are generous with the red peri sauce found on your table, it really completes this dish. Sometimes, I go for the salad or the caldo verde or the steak.. Really depends on my fancy but one thing is for certain, paired with a super bock, its hard to beat.
Encaixados
R. do Conde de Vizela 14, 4050-639 Porto, Portugal

Now this spot is more on the fancy/expensive side of Porto. Your looking at around £25-30 ahead minimum. Its a really cosy and warm restaurant with great vibes. My go to is the Duck margaret with Port wine sauce, then for desert its the poached pear. My word, this never fails me, such a wonderful dish.
Conga
R. do Bonjardim 318, 4000-115 Porto, Portugal
Now my friend who lives here introduced me to this spot here and I’ve never looked back. I go all the time for one thing, the Bifana. A super popular Portuguese sandwich served all over Portugal. It consists of thinly sliced pork (depending on what region you go to) simmered in a rich and flavourful sauce. I pair with some chips and its a fire dish, but be warned, on the weekends and the evenings, there is nearly always a queue.
Honest Greens
R. de Santa Catarina 184, 4000-442 Porto, Portugal

When were talking health this is the spot. I go every week for a nice salad bowl where you can combine and mix with what you want. It feels really clean and highly recommend if your looking for a bit of health.
Roots
Rua do Almada 335, 4050-038 Porto, Portugal

This is a really great spot, fine dining with a wonderful plant based twist. One for the plant based eaters. I been a few times when I am with my vegan friends and it always goes down a treat.
Manteigaria
R. de Alexandre Braga 24, 4000-049 Porto, Portugal
This goes without saying much, my favourite pastry in the whole world. Pastel de nata and for me, they dont get much better than at Manteigaria. With a few shops around the city, you’ll be able to get a pastel whenever you want.
Belos Aires Restaurante
R. de José Falcão 115, 4050-198 Porto, Portugal

A taste of Argentina with this one here, Belos Aires is a go to for me if I’m feeling a nice steak and chimichurri. Reasonably priced and excellent quality!
